Process
- Download the exam paper.
- Before filling in the exam: Read the cover sheet attentively!
- Filling in the exam
- If you can print the exam paper: Print the exam paper (all pages) and fill it in by hand. Write your solutions at the designated positions in the exam paper. You may use additional paper if necessary.
- If you cannot print the exam paper: Write your solutions on empty sheets of paper (handwriting). Indicate the respective question numbers. You can use as many sheets as you need.
- In any case do not forget to sign the statement that you have read and accepted the rules.
- Digitize your work
- If you can scan your work: Scan all the pages of your work, create a single PDF file (see note below) containing all the pages.
- If you cannot scan your work: Photograph all the pages of your work (e.g. using a Smart Phone).
- In any case choose a resolution to achieve good readability with the minimum possible file size. Create a single PDF file (see note below) containing all your scans/photos. Tools for this task are available on all operating systems and also online.
- Hand in your work: Make sure that your single PDF file (see note below) contains all of your work in an easily readable form and upload it in CEWebS before the deadline.
Note
The maximum upload size for a single file is approximately 20MiB. If your PDF file exceeds this size, upload will result in the error message 'can't convert nil into String'. If you chose reasonable resolutions and/or picture sizes this should not be a problem. If your file is too large and you don't know how to reduce its size, you are allowed to split your PDF file in up to 10 parts for uploading. Make sure you upload all the parts in this case.
Rules

- This is an open book exam. You may use any of the sources provided on our website and all the available literature (even in electronic form). Forums, Chats, social Media, etc. not provided on our website are not considered legal!
- Your exam may be checked for plagiarism.
- Until the end of the course and in addition during the assessment period of four weeks the examiner may perform oral inquiries about the subject area of the exam. This can also be done at random.
- If illegal sources were used or the exam was not written all alone, the whole course will not be assessed (“nicht beurteilt”) and marked with an X in your transcript of records.
- If the exam is not uploaded in the expected form until the deadline, the exam will be assessed with 0 points.
In case of unexpected technical difficulties you may use the forum or the provided BigBlueButton Room to ask for help. Do not post questions concerning the exam problems or (parts of) solutions
Allowed materials
Everything on this CEWebS-site and all additional literature (even online).
It is not allowed to contact other persons (directly or by any electronical or technical means).
Miscellaneous
The actual exam duration is 90 minutes. The rest of the time should be used for downloading/printing/scannning/photographing and uploading. Make sure you start with the finalization of the PDF file and the upload in time to meet the deadline. Try out the tools you are planning to use for printing, scanning and so on before the exam starts.
For an assessment of the exam you have to hand in your work in the required readable form and format before the deadline. There will be no deadline extensions for whatever reasons.
Do not wait with your upload until the last moment but plan some reserve time for eventual problems!
