Course to be held in three major blocks

Course Information
1st block (February):
Motto is: Building community and a shared vision; assembling the basics
- Introducing the course and the participants
- Participants' challenges and goals
- What is the Person-Centered Approach and what is PCC?
- Active Listening and expressing oneself
- TO DO:
- Submit your reaction to the first block before March 3rd
- Reflect upon your personal goals for the course and start tracking them
- Read Rpgers' and Farson's article on Active Listening
- Observe and reflect your listening f2f and online, experiment with emoticons and explore reactions
2nd block (March)
Motto is: Sharing and filling the 'container'
- Continuing to work on participants challenges
- UQRIA: Understanding, Questions, Reassurance, Information, Advice (if asked for)
- Dialogue (David Bohm) versus Discussion
- Open Case (handout see "resources")
- TO DO:
- Submit your reaction to the first block before April 1st
- Reflect upon your experience with communication in multicultural teams (please see the respective item under "Resources") and submit your reflection via the tab "Teamspace"
- Please fill out the satisfaction questionnaire regarding comMCT (please see the respective item under "Resources") and submit your reflection via the tab "Teamspace"
- As a preparation for the next block: Reflect about your Team-Leadership Interactions (please see under "Resources" and use the reflection template and guideline provided there). Written reflections and feedback as to the guidelines and processes will be collected/uploaded after the third block only.
3rd block (April)
Motto is: Generative dialogue,making sense, reflection and feedback
- Participants' experiences in real life and questions remaining

- multicultural communication: how to avoid errors/misunderstandings
- effective communication (in difficult situations)
- team-leadership interaction
- living the three Rogers variables in our group
- giving each other feedback
- TO DO:
- Submit your reaction ot the 3rd block and the whole course before April 30th
- Fill Rhea flow template on your Team-Leadership Interaction and provide feedback on the >reflection guide and the flow session - thanks!
- Submit your self-evaluation to this course before April 30th.
Course requirements:
- Attendance of the sessions and submission of reaction sheets
- Accomplishing the TO DO's of each block, in particular the comMCT activities and the Team-Leadership IA activities
- Self-evaluation
- Given you missed a (half-day) session, e.g. a short seminar thesis (see course description above) can be written to compensate for your absence. In any case, please talk to Renate Motschnig to find a personalized solution.
