Assignment 1
Create a data model for your scenario (see assigned scenario below):
- People with a Matrikelnummer with odd last number: ER Diagram, Chen Notation (nicht MC Notation)
- People with a Matrikelnummer with even last number: UML Diagram, UML Notation (nicht min-max Notation)
Include at least:
- at least 7 entities with relations in total
- at least 2 strong entities
- at least 2 weak entities
- at least 6 attributes per entity
- correct labels and cardinalities for each relation
- correct primary keys and foreign keys
The database model has to be in 3rd normal form. Ideas for entities: materials, locations (rooms, buildings), addresses, output, items, persons, jobs, …

Upload under Abgaben: 1 PDF named and labeled either ('UML.pdf' or 'ER.pdf')
- chapter 1 "Model": your model as an image.
- chapter 2 "Entities": max three sentences about the meaning of each entity and max three sentences how you choose the keys.
- chapter 3 "Relations": max three sentences about each relation and its cardinalities.
- chapter 4 "Examples": 5 example rows for each entity (like it would be realized in a database, including keys and foreign keys).
Hints
- If the filename and label are not correct, you will get no points.
- If your model is not correct you will get no points.
- If your chapters are not named correctly (see terms in quotes above), 50% of the points will deducted.
- Without a correct model all subsequent assignments can not be done.
