Objectives and learning outcomes
General objectives
The course shall provide an atmosphere of active, collaborative learning between participants (both attendees and "lecturers") from industry and academia. The focal theme on which this learning shall take place is agile management of IT procect. Thus, on the knowledge level participants are expected to construct knowledge in a wide variety of aspects concerning agile management including requirements on and consequences for organizations. On the experiential level, participants will wittness and reflect how managers learn. In addition, participants are expected to identify and share questions, potential procedures, and mutual support for follow up research.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, participants
- are able to describe the values and key principles and concepts of agile management and the SCRUM methodology
- have initial information and initial competence to engage in agile management in any of the roles specified in the course
- can describe and reflect upon new approaches to problem solving
- know what requirements the adoption of agile management imposes on persons and organizations
- can describe how managers tend to learn
- can reflect the demands that practitioners pose on effective learning
- for researchers: can estimate where their research work fits in with practice and can identify further research questions
- for practitioners: can estimate in how far their competences and organizationsl structures meet the agile profile, and know the key factors and impediments for introducing agile methods
